Growing Up
Jeff Nuese was raised in North Brunswick, New Jersey, where he demonstrated a natural gift for music at
a very young age. As a child, he would watch a TV program, then run to the piano and spontaneously play the background music
of the program (the music that most folks don't consciously hear when watching a show.) He took accordian, then piano, lessons
from local music teachers. At age twelve, he was "discovered" by Ernie Scott -- a well-known jazz pianist who nurtured Jeff's
creative ear and spontaneous piano style. Jeff occasionally performed as his guest at concerts where Ernie Scott appeared.
At fourteen, Jeff competed with 5,000 teenagers across the state, and eventually won the New Jersey Talent Expo. His resulting
solo performance at the Garden State Art Center and follow-up appearances on local TV stations at that early age were his
initiation into the world of a performing pianist.
As a Professional Entertainer
Jeff began his professional career right after high school, performing at hotels and restaurants throughout
New York and New Jersey. In 1986 and 1988, he accepted a position as the pianist/vocalist for the Princess Cruise Lines with
extended tours of the Caribbean Islands and the Orient. Upon his return to the U.S., he joined Walt Disney in Orlando, Florida,
serving as its premier piano/vocal entertainer for several years. At Disney, he gave many private performances for its most distinguished guests, including Princess Diana, Margaret Thatcher, Ed McMahon,
Michael J. Fox and Kathy Lee Gifford, to name just a few. A few years back, Kathi Lee and Regis talked about Jeff and
his music on their TV show 'Live'. For the last several years, Jeff has been performing at some
of Central-Florida's top hotels, lounges and restaurants, including Weston's Grand Boheme, the Hilton and Celebration hotels,
and the Ita Bena Restaurant. He usually performs solo or with several other top musicians - - who together
comprise the Jeff Nuese Ensemble.
